CNPS - Rehabilitation and Compliance Upgrade of the Fire Detection System

Context and Challenges
Fire safety is a top priority for major institutions and companies, especially in buildings that accommodate staff and the public. The CNPS building in Douala Bonanjo, which houses several strategic services, required a complete rehabilitation and compliance upgrade of its fire detection system in order to meet current safety standards and ensure optimal protection of people and property.

Project Description
The intervention consisted of a comprehensive technical rehabilitation, including:

• Audit and diagnostic of the existing system to identify deficiencies and non-compliances,

• Replacement and modernization of fire detectors (smoke, heat, flame) adapted to the specificities of the building,

• Installation of a new-generation fire detection control panel, with enhanced alerting and interconnection capacity,

• Connection and performance testing to guarantee reliability and responsiveness of the system,

• Training of operating personnel on system use and maintenance.

Challenges and Solutions
Working in an occupied building required meticulous organization to minimize disruptions to daily operations. Our teams scheduled interventions during adapted hours and adopted a phased approach to ensure service continuity. Additionally, certified equipment meeting international standards was chosen to guarantee system durability and efficiency.

Results and Impact
Upon completion, the CNPS Douala Bonanjo building will now be equipped with a modern, reliable, and fully compliant fire detection system. This upgrade significantly reduces fire-related risks and provides a stronger response capacity in case of emergency, thereby ensuring the safety of occupants and infrastructure.
