The Bamenda Up Station Communication Tower Installation Project was executed to strengthen the communication infrastructure supporting operations in Bamenda, Cameroon.
The project began with a comprehensive site assessment to determine the optimal tower location based on structural integrity, radio coverage, accessibility, and environmental conditions. Following the engineering survey, the foundation works were completed in accordance with the tower manufacturer's specifications and applicable international engineering standards.
After curing of the foundation, all tower components were delivered to the site and subjected to detailed quality inspections. The tower sections were assembled progressively using certified lifting equipment and qualified rigging personnel while implementing strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures.
Once the tower structure was completed, communication antennas, feeder cables, mounting brackets, grounding systems, lightning protection devices, and supporting accessories were installed. Cable routing was carefully organized to facilitate future maintenance and ensure long-term operational reliability.
Comprehensive mechanical inspections and RF verification tests were then conducted to confirm structural stability, antenna alignment, grounding resistance, and overall system performance. Following successful testing, the communication system was commissioned and handed over to the client.
Throughout the project, special attention was given to safety compliance, quality assurance, and timely project execution despite the operational challenges associated with working in mountainous terrain. The completed installation now provides a secure and dependable communication platform supporting UNDSS field operations in the Northwest Region of Cameroon.
